In order to maintain low-cost air fares, a snack menu with refreshments is available for passengers to purchase nibbles and drinks during the flight. Skywise welcomes any suggestions from passengers to enhance their flight experience.
The airlines in-flight monthly magazine SKYE is available on board and in Premier and SLo lounges at OR Tambo and Cape Town International airports and is filled with appealing articles on art, culture, fashion and travel including lifestyle matters on the latest cars and other interesting topics.
Minors 12 years and younger must be accompanied by an adult 16 years and older. Skywise Airlines cater for unaccompanied minors allowing only two per flight and this service must be booked, with an additional charge, via the call centre.
Infants 2 years and younger that are seated on the lap of an adult travel for free with one adult being allowed one infant on their lap. No more than six infants are permitted on any one flight.
No more than four passengers requiring special assistance are permitted on one flight in accordance with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) regulations. These bookings and arrangements must be made through the call centre. Prior arrangements must be made for passengers using wheelchairs that will be permissible for use inside the airport terminal and to and from the aircraft. Should a passenger be unable to ascend or descend the stairway, a passenger unit can be provided for an additional cost. This service is available on selected flights.
The airline has an allowance for one registered and trained guide dog for a visually impaired passenger per flight.
Expectant mothers between 28 and 35 weeks into their term must provide a medical certificate confirming fitness to fly while those 36 weeks and more are not accepted for flight due to safety regulations.
Passengers have an allowance of two bags weighing no more than 20kg for free plus one item of hand luggage weighing no more than 7kg and not exceeding 36x23x56cm. Bags and infant items are included in the 20kg checked baggage allowance if the infant is travelling free. Sporting equipment is included in the free 20kg checked allowance.
Passengers are not allowed to pool their luggage, unless they are part of a group or family travelling together.
Any baggage weighing over the 20kg free allowance will incur a fee of R35 per additional kilogram.
