Malaysia Airlines headquarters are based at Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Greater Kuala Lumpur with hubs in Kota Kinabalu and Kuching and additionally own two subsidiary airlines, Firefly and MASwings. For frequent flyers Malaysia Airlines have two programmes Grads (geared towards student needs) and Enrich for regular travellers. Enrich travellers receive preferential treatment besides earning Enrich Miles when utilising Oneworld member airlines and Enrich partner airlines. This year Enrich entered into an agreement with Rocketmiles enabling members to earn further Enrich Miles.

Flights can be booked on-line via our website, via telephone or with a travel agent with payment options of credit or debit cards, Pay Later, PayPal or via a direct debit.
For checked-in baggage travellers flying First, Business or Economy Class are allowed two pieces each with First Class not exceeding 50kg in total, Business Class not exceeding 40kg in total and Economy Class not exceeding 30kg in total. All of the above are free including one item of sports equipment not weighing more than 15kg.
Any single item of baggage that exceeds 32kgs will not be accepted at the check-in counter irrespective of flight class.
Musical, sports and film equipment weighing more than 32kgs should be transported through MASkargo, be packaged in protective wrap and the applicable overweight charge will apply.
The allowance for cabin baggage must not exceed 7kg each. First and Business Class are permitted two pieces while Economy Class one piece. For an infant, one bag with a maximum dimension of 115cm and one collapsible stroller or similar with weight not exceeding 05kgs in total, is accepted.
Travelling With Children
For travellers with infants or children Malaysia Airlines ensure a comfortable, stress free flight and these travellers are invited to board first, giving parents time to store luggage and ensure the children are comfortably seated.
Malaysia Airlines define an infant as a passenger not having yet reached its second birthday at commencement of the journey. One adult is allowed to carry one baby with an additional 10kg of only baby essentials, including a carrycot. If you have pram or stroller these are allowed in the cabin on a first-come, first-serve basis but once storage space is full, must go into the aircraft hold. Facilities for bottle sterilisation and warming food are available on particular flights including incubators – subject to special conditions – for babies with respiratory or heart problems.
If your child is flying alone, Malaysian Airlines have their Special Assistance Crew to oversee all your child’s needs, eliminating any concern you have for your child’s safety. Their programme for Unaccompanied Young Passengers (UYP) is for children aged five but not yet 15 and covers arrival at the airport, boarding, in-flight assistance, landing, immigration and collection of baggage to handing over your child to an appointed guardian at the arrival gates. You must request this service when booking your child’s flight.
What You Will Be Eating
Meals for children aged between two and 12 are a mixture fun and healthy ingredients while for babies there is commercially prepared baby food with choices of vegetables or fruits suitable for babies up to two years of age.
For travellers with special requirements Malaysia Airlines offers assistance to passengers with various disabilities, diabetics, wheel-chair bound travellers and those who are incapacitated. Certain special needs passengers may be subject for medical clearance by Malaysian Airlines Medical Services before being allowed to travel. If you need any special services, for seating purposes, inform staff when reserving your ticket to assist them in ensuring you experience a comfortable flight.
For travellers that enjoy their food, Malaysian Airlines offers Special Meal Request, MH Gourmet and Chef On Call.
In-flight Special Meals consist of 20 special meals made to suit your religious, medical or dietary requirements but are not provided, on flights of less than an hour.
Muslims, Hindus and Jewish travellers can indulge in delicious meals that are prepared explicitly to their religious requirements. Kosher meals are provided on selected flights only.
Medical meals cover Bland, Diabetic, Gluten Intolerant, Low Calorie, Low Fat, Low Lactose and Low Salt meals.
Vegetarian travellers have choices from Vegetarian Vegan, Lacto-Ovo, Hindu, Oriental, Jain, Fruit Platter or Raw meals.
Chef-On-Call is solely for First or Business Class passengers with 20 delicious meal variations from light and healthy choices, chef’s recommendations and Malaysian favourites.
Available only to selected destinations, MH Gourmet affords you Western or Japanese dishes with six delectable menu options to choose from for RM70 per meal.
For travellers celebrating a special occasion, utilise the On Air Celebration and arrange an in-flight surprise cake ensuring the occasion is an unforgettable one. Be it a birthday, anniversary, honeymoon or wedding, a themed cake with your personal message will be served.
